Unfair retrenchment busted
Thandaza*, a manager at a jewellery store, was retrenched without a valid reason. AZIKIPHI! That’s not on! An employer can’t retrench you without a valid reason! Scorpion’s Specialist Labour Department referred the matter to the CCMA and her boss couldn’t prove the retrenchment was valid.
Thandaza got R80 100.00!
Scorpion paid R11 253.10 for the legal costs.
Member fights unfair dismissal
Thabo*, a security guard, was unfairly dismissed after a disciplinary hearing. AZIKHIPHI! That’s not on! Thavamanie and her team proved that the Scorpion member had a clean disciplinary record and that the dismissal was unfair.
Thabo got R10 632.96!

Charge of negligence proved unfair
Benjamin*, a technical specialist was unfairly dismissed for gross negligence. AZIKHIPHI! That’s not on! Thavamanie’s team took the matter to arbitration for 7 full days and proved that Benjamin did the best he could under the circumstances.
Benjamin got: R1 047855.87 and his job back!
