Feel like you’re being discriminated against unfairly because you’re a woman in the workplace? Here’s how to handle it.
What can you do if you feel that you're being discriminated against unfairly in the workplace because of your gender? Step one is to follow your company's internal procedures. This may include lodging a formal grievance against the person. If your employer fails to resolve things internally, you can refer your matter to the CCMA within six months of the unfair discrimination taking place. If the CCMA is not able to resolve the dispute through conciliation, the matter can either be referred for arbitration (if both parties agree) or to the Labour Court.
